Tina Vlassopulos

Tina Vlassopulos was born in Britain in 1954. She graduated in 1977 and had her first solo show very shortly after in 1980 in Athens. She has since had many solo shows across Europe and group exhibitions all over the world, including the USA, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, France and Germany. Her works are collected worldwide and are held in both personal and corporate collections. Vlassopulos’ work has been exhibited in a multitude of prestigious gallery spaces including the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal College of Art. She has been presented with a number of awards, most recently, in 2006, ‘The Sidney Myer Fund International Ceramic Award’ and ‘La Trobe University Award of Merit’. Vlassopulos is a selected member of The Craft Council and also The Craft Potters Association and has been widely published in both UK and International Journals. Vlassopulos now lives and works in London producing beautiful one off, hand built ceramics. Taking her inspiration from nature and natural forms, the pots seem to grow organically from clay; their soft shapes and delicate colours provide the perfect antidote to a hectic modern world.
